![]() My current working Laptop is a Thinkpad T14s and the Windows-VM feels like its running as an instance on my old homelab-server (x3650 M3) its laggy, sluggish, keeps freezing spontaniously and when I have to use skype in just 1 of 20 sessions citrix (with plugins installed) won't recognize my mic and the audio-quality is like on canphones from my childhood so I have to dial in via my phone.Ībout 75% of my coworkers and the customers have the same problems on their windows-machines. In my actual job as an auditor I use it for about 6 months on a daily base to consume a windows 10 desktop vm to work in my main-customers environment and I have to say that its got even worse in my opinion. In my old job as an VMware Expert (2016-2019) I barely used Citrix because it was a pain in the ass and in almost any project I worked one of the key goals was to get rid off Citrix any other solution worked better in terms of feature set and stability. IMO, the least stable version is Workspace on Chromebook, I have weird crashes and stuck visuals regardless of my connection strength way more than any other platform, but even then the experience isn't terrible and I grab my Chromebook more often than any other for remote access via Citrix just because it's lightweight and has a long battery life.Īre there any updates on the user-experience of Citrix Workspace on macOS? The Windows versions get the most love by Citrix (and with good reason considering the install base), so your going to run into random bugs or glitches with any of the secondary platforms you might not have on the Windows version. That being said, I have used Citrix on Mac, Linux, Chromebook, and Windows and its all a pretty similar experience once the program is installed, updated, and configured properly. The update bricked a lot of Intel based Macbooks (and by bricked I mean wouldn't even turn back on). If the Monterey release was any indication, Apple already has one foot out the door of Intel based support. Now is probably the worst time to buy an Intel based Macbook. It's important to keep the workspace updated, the Mac workspace doesn't have a long term release cycle and Mac OS updates can wreck havoc on previous versions.Īlso, if you plan on buying a used Macbook, unless you can find a refurb M1, I would advise against it. Things like certificate trust issues or the program needing permissions setup properly have been the common ones since Big Sur was released. We get about 5x the amount of problems per capita with Macs using Citrix than Windows laptops. It can be a bumpy road if you don't know a lot about Macs or your help desk isn't familiar with them or won't support them. This fix updates corresponding libraries to redirect the smart card successfully. In theory its fine. After you upgrade to Chrome 72, smart card redirection might stop working. When you open a desktop session or an app using Citrix Workspace app for Chrome on a touch-enabled Chromebook and change the resolution to a fixed value that is larger than the window size, the session might not pan. With this fix, Citrix Workspace app for Chrome supports localization in the Dutch language. When you open a session that is a fixed size through the Chrome HDX SDK and then change the resolution by setting autoresize: true to auto fit to the window, the session might not resize. It gives you instant access to all your SaaS and web apps, your virtual apps, files, and desktops from an easy-to-use, all-in-one interface powered by Citrix Workspace services.įor more information about Citrix Workspace app, visit Citrix Workspace-app voor ChromeOS The new Citrix Workspace app (formerly known as Citrix Receiver) provides a great user experience - a secure, contextual, and unified workspace - on any device.
